Richard's Apartment:
Richard lives in end unit 650 square foot apartment in Central Vermont. His fuel costs since November have exceeded 750 gallons. His apartment is over crawl space, with the entrance to the space in his bedroom closet. Although the 2x10 floor boards were very well insulated with faced fiberglass, it had fallen in spaces and there was thermal bridging where the studs were. In March 2008 we took two rolls of 3/8 P2000 insulation and snugged up the insulation that was there, paying close attention to securing it without any air gaps. We used the spray foam around the foundation edges, because "this old house was carved out of the earth. The job took two men, 5 hours. The next day Richard asked in a concerned voice, "What did you do to my apartment?" We were worried something was wrong. When we told him, he was surprised all we did was insulate the floor because it had been so comfortable he thought we must have done something more. We have Since started insulating the floors of all the buildings, even if there is a basement. We love P2000.

Stevenson Cottage
P2000 has been a pleasure to install and as long as you follow the instructions, it seems like it will last forever. Definitly no health issues to worry about when we installed the insulation. The one thing that we really noticed was the lack of outside noise. The cottage is close to a main road and usually we hear a fair bit of traffic and wind noise. Now with the P2000 on the exterior walls, (well half of them) we hear a lot less. Thanks for calling and we will keep in touch."

3/8" WPR was used on the ground in the crawlspace then 1" WPR up the outside of the Cottage pony walls. Above that 1" RPR was used up to the Soffits. This last summer P2000 did just what it said it would do, and that was to keep the heat out of our cottage. We only did the roof but what a difference. If we renovate the outside of the cottage you can bet P2000 will be going on there too.

On this Cottage the slope of the Roof was too flat. This caused Ice damning and all sorts of water damage. Part of the problem was no ventilation above the existing open ceiling and insulation. By putting P2000 on the roof now he had good insulation plus an excellent heat reflector. New rafters were put in place to give ventilation and increase the slope of the roof.

Autoshop Retrofit
"I had the P2000 Insulation System installed in my 2500 sq. ft. automotive shop in 2004. The savings on my heat bill in just the first winter alone almost paid for the cost of buying and installing this product. The crew that installed the P2000 said it was quite easy to install and much cleaner to work with compared to other types of insulation. My shop is now brighter as well as warmer in winter and cooler in summer. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to save money on energy costs.

Insulated Storage Closet
As a contractor, I have a closet in which I store paints, stains, solvents, etc. to prevent from freezing during the winter months. A couple years ago, I lined the closet with blue foam and kept a light bulb on all the time to keep it from freezing. I found that a 100-watt light bulb barely kept it warm enough to keep things from freezing. When I heard about P2000, I was anxious to try it before I used it for my customers. So I thought I would give it a test run in my paint closet. I replaced the blue foam with P2000 and came back a couple days later. The temperature was over 90 degrees! I put in a 60-watt bulb - and it was still too warm to store my supplies. Now I am using a 40-watt bulb and it keeps the cabinet at a consistent 70 plus degrees.

Hot Tub Energy Saver
I was looking for a way to reduce the heat-loss from my hot tub - which we use all winter. I installed P2000 by pushing a sheet in, bending it around the inside of the box and taping it in place. It was flexible and quite easy to cut & fit. I know it is working when I don't see any more snow melting on the ground around my hot tub.

Cottage Retro-fit
We were looking for an easy way to add insulation our family cottage because we are spending more time there in the fall. We installed P2000 under the roof rafters, and under the floor joists in the crawl space and we immediately noticed a difference. My father is an industrial insulation installer, and he was quite impressed how it works. We'll be getting more of this next time we insulate.

Solved Pump House Freezing Problem
I got some P2000 to see if it would solve my most annoying insulation problem - keeping my water pump from freezing. I have a pump house in the back yard which has frozen every winter for the last 30 years, until we installed P2000. We tried bails of hay, heavy plastic, fiberglass insulation, and light bulbs in every conceivable combination, and it always managed to freeze. Last fall, I lined the inside walls of the shed with P2000 5/8" insulation board, and it did not freeze once all winter. I am building a new house this fall, and we will be insulating with P2000. It's great stuff!

Engineer endorsement
...thank you for introducing me to P2000 insulation...I fully intend to continue specifying and using P2000 insulation in my consulting. It is an excellent product and can be used in a great many situations.

Fish Hatchery
We used P2000 on two very large buildings. Really good stuff! Buildings house fish, lots of water and no heat - just light bulbs and water pumps - and the water never freezes.

Horse Stable Retro-fit
I was doing some improvements to my small horse stable building where I keep my 2 horses. I had heard about P2000 and liked the idea of insulating the ceiling and getting a bright and washable finish in one application. The product went on very easily, but after a couple days, I found it was too warm for the horses. Since the building had no heat in it, apart from the horses, I installed a thermostat-controlled exhaust fan to keep the stable from getting too warm. I used some of the trimmings from the ceiling to try to solve another cold problem in the building - my water pipes. I made a box around the pipes and the water pipes did not freeze once all winter.

New Barn and Milking Parlour
We installed P2000 on the ceiling and walls of our new barn. The white finish is bright and impresses everyone that sees the inside of the barn. The product was easy to install - we did not break a single sheet on the job - and because we were installing sheathing, insulation, vapour barrier and finish - all in one application - we know we saved a lot on installation costs. It keeps the building cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter - which we especially appreciate in our milking parlour.

Meat Freezer
We used 1 in. WPR to line an 8' by 24' freezer truck box in our meat locker. Before installing P20000 we had to run our refrigerator unit almost continually in 50 degree weather to get it down to 0 degrees. After lining freezer truck box with p2000, the temperature goes down to 0 degrees in about 30 minutes. We saved 50% on our cooling costs last winter.

Turkey Barn
We installed P2000 in our 24,000 square foot turkey barn. We were impressed with how easy the product was to handle. Installation was virtually problem free. Our 400 x 600 barn was finished quickly with a small crew. We chose to install the white side facing in. The lighting benefits were obvious, not to mention the moisture control. In those hot summer months, the litter was kept much drier. The humidity control due to the insulation resulted in us having to bed straw less often and still have nice clean birds.

Basement Theatre Room
My son-in-law was building a home theatre in his basement. I convinced him to use P2000 on the project on the exterior walls of the 12' x 24' room. My purpose was to get some hands on knowledge in a field application. The application of P2000 proved to be considerably less time consuming than installing rock-wool batts and polyethylene vapor barrier. The additional four inches of room was noted and welcomed when compared to 2 x 4 walls. The actual savings of energy loss was not scientifically determined due to lack of scientific instrumentation. I can report that prior to the theatre room retrofitting procedure, two five inch air ducts were required to heat the room. After the 5/8" P2000 was installed, the heating ducts were plugged because the heat from the light bulbs in the room is all that is required for heating to 72 degrees. I will continue to monitor the installation for a couple of years and report any further observations to you.

Basement Walls
We would like to tell you that we are very happy we used P2000 Insulation to insulate our basement. The basement is much more comfortable than it ever was. We always found it very cool downstairs but now it is much warmer and we have not changed anything with the heating. In fact, since we insulated the basement, our power bill has been consistently less than the same month last year. We installed the 5/8" reflective on both sides type. We applied it to the bare concrete wall using an adhesive and sealed the self-adhesive seams like you told us and found it very easy to install. We have also noticed that this year there has been no snow melting around the foundation wall around the house. In previous years, the snow used to melt away about 8" from the wall. This proves to us just how much heat is not getting out anymore and that P2000 Insulation is really working. Next year, we expect to build a new garage, and we definitely intend on using P2000 to insulate it. So we are more comfortable, losing less heat and saving money. We are very happy with P2000 Insulation and have already been telling our friends and family about it."
